What Martha's Bell of Christ means to her:
"Six-plus years ago we traveled to McKinney Texas to meet our son's first real girlfriend. This was really exciting because he was nearly thirty. She was a delightful girl and we knew why she had been able to keep him in McKinney instead of home to Ballinger, Texas for Thanksgiving. We met a delightful young woman. During the short visit, she and I went to the Old Town Square in McKinney and did some Christmas shopping. In one store, there were these lovely bells of sterling silver on nice chains. I chose one which I would have liked to give my best friends but having three of those and the bells being nearly seventy dollars each, I did not purchase one. My lovely young companion liked the Texas bell best, but I liked the Christ bell. We came home and I did not think about the bells again.
Christmas came and Jennifer and Anthony, our son and his lovely girlfriend, came to Ballinger. I opened my gift from Anthony and there was the Christ Bell. I just stared at it and asked how soon after we had come home they went shopping. He said, "I might like this shopping business mom, now that I have a spy. We went to town as soon as you left so that they would not sell it to anyone else." Needless to say, that shopping trip was at the beginning of a love filled Christ centered relationship, which has produced one beautiful five year old Angel, and soon a baby brother, a home of hope and joy and one very very pleased mother-in -law. I know that feeling of love every time I hear my little silver bell ring and can share its story with those who admire it.
Martha"
